Rewinding

We have the capabilities and technical staff to adequately service, redesign or rewind any type of electrical machine at a very competitive price and quality. Following are few of the key differentiating factors that has led to our success rate as compared to other service providers:

  • Break down analysis to find out the root cause for the winding failure.
  • Verify if the winding details are appropriate. Otherwise re-design.
  • Pay attention to quality of the work right from beginning to end of the winding process.
  • On completion of winding, we subject the windings to series of tests that include flash test, megger insulation test, mechanical test, resistance measurement etc.

Windings carried out in our facility follow a well-defined standard procedures as follows:

  • Dismantling of existing Winding with paid attention to gather the existing winding details.
  • Blow off carbon and copper dust from the winding slots using high compressed air.
  • Assess winding core for any core damage. If required do re-staggering of the core.
  • Insulate the slots using F or H class insulation materials to with stand higher operating temperatures.
  • Coil winding to former size and with appropriate tension using double enamelled copper wire to with stand higher mechanical and electrical stress.
  • After completion of winding, stress test each individual coils by applying High Voltage between the earth Vs the coil and between the coil Vs the adjustcent coils using a Flash tester. This will help us to identify if there are any insulation issues even before we proceed to the next steps.
  • We also take the resistance reading of each individual coils. This will help us to keep an eye on the count of turns.
  • Connection of all the coils followed by a Magnetic polarity testing, which will indicate the poles. This will help us to identify if there are any inappropriate current paths.
  • Binding of coils followed by High temperature heating.
  • Finally, apply quality apoxy resin for higher rating windings or apply moist/Chemical resistent varinsh.
